You are the sum of all of your training. In order to be the best, you have to train to become the best. You have to associate yourself with coaches that have been there, and know what it takes to get to the next level.

At the Lax Haus, we will break players down by age, by position, and by specialty to help you reach whatever goals you set for yourself. From working with 1st graders to High Schoolers getting ready to commit to play in college, we will design classes and workouts to progress each student athlete in their craft.

Our Location: 5000 36th Street, Entrance A

Classes Starting Up In August!

We are happy to announce that we will be bringing back classes next month! True Michigan will be offering Offensive and Defensive classes as well as Face-Off Classes for Middle School and High School athletes. During these classes our main focus is individual progression. Players will be focusing on the details of the game while finishing every practice with a competitive drill. We look forward to working with your boys again!

Offensive Focus:  Stick Skills and Athletic Ability will be our main focus during training sessions. Passing, catching, dodging and shooting at FULL SPEED will be the major part of these classes. We want to make sure the boys are progressing individually and really mastering the details of the sport. To make sure that each class is competitive we will be combining the offense and defense for 30minutes  so they can get after each other. We will be focusing on 1v1 to the cage, 2v2 from X, ground ball battles and tons of uneven work. With each training session focusing on stick skills and individual player progression  they boys will learn a ton and have a blast doing so!

Defensive Focus: Foot-work, body position and stick skills will be the primary focus for our defensive trainings. Coaches will be putting the boys through muscle memory drill (helps with approach), step over at X (maintain topside position) and showing the players the proper checks to throw at certain places on the field. Everything that we teach them, they will be able to use when we go live with the offensive group. Coaches will talk players through every live scenario on the field. Spending 30 mins on individual work and then bringing the boys together for 1v1 and 2v2 will be extremely beneficial for all defensemen!

Face-Off Focus: Coach Jim will work in a 4 part series to develop the face-off athlete. Starting with basics of hand placement and stance, working this way up to more complex movements like defensive exits and wing play. With the complete gym at the Lax Haus, Coach Jim has designed face-off specific training exercises to help the athlete improve their strength and explosiveness. As the athletes progress through the 4 part class, they will begin to take more and more live draws until the last day where they will face each other to crown a champion from each age group.
